One Step Closer

Spring 2015 begins with exciting news: the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body of equestrian sport, has approved Part I of EB’s application for National Affiliate status!

This brings EB one step closer to achieving one of our most important goals. Attaining National Affiliate status with the FEI is required in order for The Bahamas to field teams in international competition.

EB has been invited by the FEI to submit Part II of the application. This process is now underway and will be completed in the weeks to come. Given approval, the final step toward National Affiliate status will be a field

Emily Lowe receives Outstanding Youth Award

Congratulations to Emily Lowe, recipient of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s Outstanding Youth Award. Emily was one of 100 outstanding youth between the ages of 16 and 25 from around the country who were honoured for their efforts and achievements in sports, arts, and culture in the Bahamas.

Emily is a longtime rider at Camperdown Equestrian Centre, and also volunteers during holidays and weekends at Mariposa Stables, and Hibiscus Hill Stables. Emily joins last year’s winner, Olivia Hazlewood, as only the second rider to be nationally recognized for her contribution to our sport.  Well done, Emily!
